Barbara & Michael, were married at Dalhousie Castle 18th July 2000

Barbara and Michael manage to get on twice in this pic...?

It was wonderful working with Yvonne. Before we arrived in Scotland our only contact with Yvonne was by email, but we felt like we already knew her personally. We knew we were in good hands. She was friendly, patient and took care of every detail. She was there for us even when we showed up early and handled our last minute requests.

"..you did what?..."The morning of the wedding Beth and I taxied over to Dalhousie Castle and went up to the William Wallace Room, mine and Michael's honeymoon suite.

The smell of the wedding flowers filled the castle room, they were even lovelier than expected.

While us ladies were pampered with hair and makeup Michael and Scott were out gallivanting about the countryside making all kinds of interesting, wrong turns on their way to the castle.

Luckily they arrived ahead of time and found the minister to be quite entertaining. There's nothing like swatting flies with a ministers stole to take the edge off of a stressful morning.

The next challenge was mine, walking down several winding flights of steps from the castle roof to the chapel, on the bottom floor.

My dress caught twice on the stairs. Luckily Beth and a castle employee were there to loosen me up so I could meet my groom on time.

It was an awesome experience being led to my future by a highland piper playing Highland Cathedral on his bagpipes.

Finally! I got to the chapel stairs and looked down and saw Michael looking up at me with his gorgeous smile and beautiful brown eyes and thought, Please God , don't let me fall down the stairs. Michael later told me he was thinking the same thing.

The ceremony was touching. I wept with tears of joy. Michael said he was on the verge of crying too but he knew if he cried I would really lose it.

Our highland pipe major, Ian, played the bagpipes for our entertainment as we had a "smashing" time posing for pictures. Walter our photographer had a contagious smile, he made everything lots of fun, and the time flew by.

The stunning Dalhousie CastleWe then went inside for our reception. We had a great time cutting the cake with the bagpipers dirk.

Ian was quite a character, very charming, talented and entertaining. He had us all in roaring with laughter. He also delivered a very special toast with a wee dram of Scotch.

Then it was off to our castle room for some final photos on the roof!

All of us in our wedding attire, Yvonne, Steve and his video camera, Walter and his camera equipment went over the rail for some cool castle roof shots. Being on the castle roof, the breeze picking up and being with the love of my life gave the day an extra special quality of a fairy tale wedding.

Then it was time for good byes. A little later Beth, Scott, and us newlyweds went down to the dungeons for dinner. It was an incredible dinner with attentive wait staff. Quite the ambiance with candles, wine, fine dining, luscious dessert and weapons of mass destruction. Then we said bye to our attendants and went up to our honeymoon suite.

The room had a terrific view of the Scottish scenery, the evening air was beautiful and we had a wonderful night!

Barbara, Michael, Beth & ScottThe next morning we had breakfast in the dungeons and then we were off to spend time sight seeing in Scotland, Wales and England.

We spent our first week as husband and wife in Scotland.

On our UK adventure we saw London and it's many sites, Stonehenge, Bath, all kinds of castles in each country from ruins to the renovated. We saw Shakespeare's birth place, Hadrian's wall, the Open Championship in St. Andrews and absorbed lots of history. Michael and Scott even took in a few Scottish golf courses.

There's definitely a return trip to Scotland in our future!

We had high expectations for what our wedding would be like and the wedding day exceeded those expectations. We couldn't have asked for a more spectacular day or location for our wedding. Everything was incredible. The people were unforgettable.

All we had to do was enjoy it and we did. One thing we know for sure is that Yvonne only works with the best. Everything and everyone was awesome. The weather was even spectacular, I think Yvonne ordered it just for us.

Thanks to Yvonne and all of you who took part in celebrating our special day. We created beautiful memories which will last our lifetime and the wonderful wedding video we received will help us keep and share those memories.

Lots of Love, Barbara and Michael Bond
