the wedding of...........

I very highly recommend Scotland and Yvonne as excellent choices for your wedding! I had been to Scotland once when I was 10 yrs old, but I remembered being very impressed by the landscapes, castles, etc...

I got engaged in March, and my fiance & I were scheduled to leave on our trip to England/Scotland/Ireland on April 17th. So, three weeks before we left for the UK, I got in touch with Yvonne, to see if there was any way we could manage to get married while we were there (a romantic, spontaneous idea!).

She was very responsive and incredibly helpful! She made sure that we had already started getting the paperwork filled out. And then she emailed a list of questions about what I was looking for (cake, flowers, what sort of venue, etc). Over the next couple of days, she was able to present a few options to me, which were great.

But, since we plan on having another wedding at home for our families and friends, we ended up deciding on something very small and simple.

We agreed upon on having Yvonne take care of arranging the place we were to be married, and the minister. With only a few day's notice, Yvonne found a hotel that had a reception room where we could be married, with the option of using the hotel gardens if the weather was good, and the minister. Once we got there, though, Yvonne ended up helping out with much more!

When we arrived in Edinburgh (where we were getting married), we phoned her to let her know we'd arrived. She offered to help us find a hotel or B&B, since we hadn't booked anything (Yes, we were very disorganized!!). She arranged to pick us up the next day, take us over to see the hotel, meet the minister and go to the registrar's office (while we had been travelling around, she had been checking with the registrar's office to make sure that they had received our paperwork and everything was in good order).

We decided against a professional photographer since we were on a tight budget, so Yvonne volunteered her husband to take pictures for us. And, even though we forgot the roll of film on the day, he had come prepared with a roll of 36 film.

She had also arranged for a bottle of champagne after the ceremony, and brought rose petals to throw at us afterwards. And, since we weren't having any guests attend, they agreed to be our witnesses.

We had decided that we would find take care of locating a hotel for our "honeymoon" night, but ended up needing her help, since we were so busy. Yvonne booked us a room at a very nice hotel (within our budget!), on the top floor, with a balcony, and an Absolutely incredible view of the castle.

It was fantastic! On our wedding day we had beautiful weather (I even think Yvonne arranged that f or us too!), and so she had made sure the hotel had set up the garden for the ceremony. The garden had an old circular stone temple and they laid out a red carpet leading up to it. There was a fountain and other gardens with beautiful flowers that we took pictures in.

Yvonne was very easy to work with. And, if she managed to arrange everything for us so wonderfully, with so little notice (and as you can probably tell, we weren't the easiest couple to manage), I have every confidence that she can arrange an ideal wedding for almost anyone!
