Mark & Nancy, were married at Dalhousie Castle in Scotland on the 19th August 1998
I initially started writing and phoning people in Scotland trying to find out everything I needed to do in order to get married there. I realized very quickly that it would be very difficult. The time and effort involved would be staggering. I happened across Scottish Wedding Consultants while surfing the net hoping to find someone such as Yvonne. Right from the beginning my wife and I felt comfortable with Yvonne. She promptly returned any e.mail I sent and always had answers to my questions (which were quite a few). We chose the Dalhousie Castle to get married in. It was beautiful! It has beautiful surroundings for nice photographs. The photographer she found for us did a great job. The chapel inside is small but quaint. Since it was just the two of us, we didn't need very much room. I'm sure it would hold 30 people if needed. We also had a piper play as Nancy walked in and as we left the chapel. That was very neat. It also made for unique photo's. The people at the castle were also very nice. They were willing to open the dining room early so that we could have a quiet dinner without anyone else around. Yvonne was fantastic. She met us at the airport so that she could take us to the courthouse and also to meet the minister. She then followed us to the car rental place so that after we picked up our car, we could follow her to our hotel. Since my wife didn't want us to see each other the day of the wedding, Yvonne picked Nancy up early for a hair appointment and then brought her to the castle. They arrived a bit later than expected because the two of them were up in Nancy's room ironing her dress and talking so much that they lost track of time. They made it in plenty of time though. She had detailed directions for me which turned out to be very valuable. She stayed throughout the day to make sure everything went smoothly, which they did. I had told Yvonne that the only thing that was a little bit unnerving was having to send money overseas ahead of time. We did because we felt very comfortable with her but it would have been nice to be able to contact someone as a reference prior to doing this. This and Yvonnes excellent service is why we offered to be a reference. We rented a car and started driving around and staying in bed & breakfast's. We had a blast and would do it the same way again. All in all, it was well worth the money to have Yvonne help coordinate our wedding. We could not have done it without her. I hope you have as much fun as we did. Good luck.
